The Graduate Nursing Program has as Area of Concentration: Nursing in the Promotion of Health. The Nursing work in the promotion of health of individuals, groups and communities is studied. Policies, practices, processes and resources of institutional and governmental order are investigated. The living conditions of the population in the health-disease process, the knowledge, attitudes, strategies, and behaviors of care are analyzed. The program promotes the transformation of policies and practices in health promotion.
At the present stage, the Program has evolved and showing potential in several aspects of the academic process, with significant production in national and international journals. The Program seeks to develop studies to expand and generate knowledge for the technical-scientific, political-social, epistemological and methodological development of the nursing work, committed to a transformative social practice and focused on improving the quality of life in the plan of individual and collective care, given the complexity of regional inequalities and needs.
